A year ago, it was business as usual online. And I was doing very well with SEO. In fact my website was on page one of Google for dozens upon dozens of keywords.

I was talking with one of my friends, and found this very interesting.

We were talking about how he thinks too much and
tries to read too much before taking any action.

Case and point. He wants to start SEO. He’s been
reading a ton of SEO books, articles and even
joined couple forums. However he was stuck,
and confused and finally he got me on messenger.

Now I used to go to shool without a shool bag most of
the time, one year before leaving school. Failing exams
was so common it was like something special.

We’ve all heard the saying,
“I’d be rich if I had a nickel for every time…”
…I hear Paris Hilton say, “That’s Hot!”

There are probably many methods to get links to a blog. A blog hosted on blogger or any other blog platform still needs to be optimized for search engines.

It means you have to add meta tags and other onpage optimization factors. Do not put too much importance however. Your objective is to get many links. Start by adding meta tags to your blog.

Then put nofollow tags on links which are useless if they get ranked. - Like disclaimer, terms and conditions, contact us and… Links that point to other sites like blogger.com, wordpress.com (these are by default on your blogger template)

You can exchange blog posts or articles with other bloggers by contacting them. Tell them you have a similar blog and mention some benefits so they get interested. You can do link exchange with other blogs, by adding links on your homepage of the blog and in return they add yours on their homepage. [Read more →]

Have something new and different to say

It may seem obvious, but simply spouting off a bunch of statistics or rewording something that has already been said by a hundred others isn’t going to bring any longevity to your website traffic. 

Regardless of how much effort you put into getting people to the door, most of them are going to leave unless you quickly present them with a reason to stick around.  Put some time and research into your content and your energy will be rewarded by traffic that not only stops by for a quick glance, but comes back again and again. A great way to have new quality content on your site is to add a blog. The content will also get highly ranked in search engines.
