Eradicating Duplicate Content for Good

As I wrote last week, duplicate content can often spell disaster for your web presense. Even people who are very careful about the information they publish can fall prey to this death knell, largely because they just don’t know. blackhat.jpgIn today’s high tech world, there is slang term for the unscrupulous hackers who are always seeking ways to sneak past security, crash computer networks with viruses and yes, even slip into the top of search engine rankings. They are called “The Black Hatters”.

While these black hatters do often see results from their actions, their sneaky and underhanded ways most often end up with their web sites being banned entirely. For this reason I want to share with you the top three ways that the online black hatters use to achieve their results. [Read more →]

New Social Media Upstart Seeks Beta Testers

It appears as though someone has finally taken social marketing websites to the next level.  Tipzu allows users to create their own Tipzine using Web 2.0 capabilities.  What is a Tipzine, you might ask?  That is this site’s catch word for a personal social networking page with some serious power.

Is Your Web Content Marketable?

social networking website logosWhen it comes to marketing yourself on the internet, content is king. You can exchange links and post on message boards until you’re blue in the face but without top notch content to keep your visitors interested, at the end of the day all you are going to end up with are a few quick click-throughs and nothing to show for your effort.

It makes sense if you think about it from the perspective of a web page visitor. They are there for a reason and if you can’t deliver on their needs in the first few seconds, you’re going to lose them and chances are good that they won’t be back anytime soon. [Read more →]
