New Social Media Upstart Seeks Beta Testers

It appears as though someone has finally taken social marketing websites to the next level.  Tipzu allows users to create their own Tipzine using Web 2.0 capabilities.  What is a Tipzine, you might ask?  That is this site’s catch word for a personal social networking page with some serious power.

Tipzu is currently in beta testing, offering users complete HTML functionality (that no other social media site has at the moment) to create a page that takes the best of a Blogspot blog and tosses in the article publishing qualities of HubPages and the networking reach of MySpace.

Google acquires DoubleClick, sells online marketing unit

Search engine giant Google completed a $3.4 billion acquisition of digital marketing giant DoubleClick last month. Google chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt had this to say on March 11, 2008:

“With DoubleClick, Google now has the leading display ad platform, which will enable us to rapidly bring to market advances in technology and infrastructure that will dramatically improve the effectiveness, measurability and performance of digital media for publishers, advertisers and agencies, while improving the relevance of advertising for users.”

Over 80% of Americans Use the Internet to Pursue…

internet hobbies…No, it’s not porn.

According to a research study, 8 in 10 Americans say they’ve used the internet to pursue and learn more about their hobbies. The online hobby population has grown from about 45% in 2005 to 59% in 2007 for all American adults.
