Helping Your Website Close the Sale
Getting traffic to your website is definitely an important step toward increasing your internet sales potential, but it is just that - a step in the process.
It is your website itself that can make or break the sale once the traffic is there.
You’ve gone through the trouble of signing up with the right affiliate programs, added the right code to your website and even added some relevant content. Once you’ve done that, you’re finished right? No.
Informative content alone isn’t enough by a long shot. The truth is that there are thousands of people out there doing the same thing you are doing, trying to sell the same products you are selling. Until you help your website close the sale, your site is just another in an endless supply of internet marketing websites and that’s exactly what your visitors are going to prove when they visit, read a little information and leave.
In order to get and keep your customer’s attention and get the sale, you have to do one very important thing - you have to ask for the sale. It sounds obvious because it is. It’s so obvious that most people don’t do it, but study after study has shown that the trait that most successful salespeople have in common (aside from dedication and drive, which I am assuming you have or you wouldn’t be reading this) is that they know how and when to ask for the sale.
Take a look at your web content as though it were a sales pitch because that’s exactly what it should be. Read it like you were actually making a pitch. When your content brings up a relevant selling point, ask for the sale. If you pay attention, most relevant web content gives you the opportunity to ask for the sale at least twice.
Long story short, if you aren’t asking for the sale chances are good that you won’t get it. You aren’t being pushy, you’re asking a question.
