Let me start:

1) Keyword tracking Hits Tail - http://www.hittail.com

This is not to track traffic. If you wish to know which keywords are giving you the most traffic this is for you. Why you need this tool?

If you know a certain keyword is getting you the most amount of traffic, then optimize your website for that keyword. If it is #10 in Google, then get it #1.

That’s why you need this tool, it’s very advanced, with charts, lists and detailed information. Do not rely on your webhosting stats, they are not very accurate for things I shall not go into detail here.

There are no stat counters displayed on your site!

But remember, if you don’t need to know this info, don’t use this tool. Search engines prefer not to see too many code (javascripts etc) in your website.

2) Pinging your blogs, feed or podcasts.

The one tool that in my opinion is better than pingomatic nowadays. You just select the many pinging servers and hit submit.

Use both of them, and ping only after posting something new on your blog.

3) Fresh New Content (Search engine friendly)

This is a great and free tool that allows you to add fresh new content. Don’t use javascript option because it is useless because search engines don’t read javascripts. So they can’t see the content that is displayed.

So use the php version on a site or page that ends in.php

If your site is not in php, this is not for you. Do not create some pages with .php and others with .html or .asp Choose ONE!

4) Link Exchange Manager

This is a great script that will allow you total control on your link partners. I use this script on my sites and I can say the administration area is awesome.

You create sort of directory for your links page, and visitors can easily submit their link using an online form. You have total control of links submitted and anything else you dream of.

5) Allow your blog visitors to social bookmark your blog posts. This is a cool tool: http://www.toprankblog.com/tools/social-bookmarks

A link back to the site is required to use the tool.

6) SEO Tools

This site offers free tools you use them online, such as checking the amount of backlinks, the page rank, and your ranking positions. I did mention those because they are the basic, there are many more. They have a tool I never seen before. You input a website URL, the website loads in browser and you will be able to see the pagerank of each of the links on that website.

7) Keyword Search

Overture tool was one very popular and useful tool, but they are closing it down. The new wordtracking free tool is very similar:

Search number displayed refers to the number of searches per day.

Banned by Adsense?

Now you can use also Kontera. There are other similar to adsense but for content related websites, blogs and maybe forums this works great.

9) Link Exchange Membership Sites

I am only recommending the services I personally used that did provide results. Results also mean quality link partners.

I describe the method I used in each one of them. I am a free member in each one.

10) Free Link Center.

After signup I login, then go to the category that is related to my niche. Then page by page I request a link exchange from each website. There is no need to place your link first. That is why I use it. I just request a link from each site.

I did receive replies to my request.

11) Link Diary

I just joined free. Then whenever someone links my site he requests a link exchange. I get notified via email.

I don’t ask for link exchanges if I need to first place the link on my site. That does not seem fair to me, because when I tried it at LinkMetro.com few rarely replied. Time and energy wasted.

12) Link Metro

I use link metro to do article exchanges. I contact the webmasters via PM to ask them if they are interested. I don’t place their articles on my site, but first ask them via PM.

Again I just reply to request webmasters make for a link exchange, not request links because many do not reply or link back.

13) Link2me

Same like all the rest. It is very easy to setup accounts in these sites. Even if I receive few link request, they still keep coming every day, week, month just for signing up one time.

And if you are asking yourself, whom I trade links with… my answer is EVERYONE. Any category, any pr, as long as they are not casino, gambling or porn related websites.

14) Simple Linking

At simple linking you don’t need to place their link before requesting one. That is why I participate and request link exchanges. Free members like me can only request up to 20 links a day.

15) Link Exchanged

You cannot request link exchanges if you are a free member. I always suggest you remain free because these sort of link exchange memberships I mention have many inactive members.

16) Label Your Website

This is very good for your the eyes of your visitors. You simple place some code and a button and when people click on it they find information such as:

* No violence
* No potentially harmful activities
* No user-generated content

Labels on your website provide credibility. Even Alexa Ranking button and any awards you received or if you are a member of certain online groups. That means people are doing business with you and trust is improved. It’s great if you don’t want to spend money on other better credibility options. Like BBC online, Hacker Safe logo and so forth.
